‘Double D’ plans Carnival cultural exchange
Trinidad Guardian
This is just the second year that De Nu Image Kallaloo is hitting the streets on Carnival day, but Durham intends to take his masqueraders to popular carnivals in Miami, Atlanta, Brooklyn (Labour Day), Toronto (Caribana) and London.

PLEASE DON’T be fooled by this article – Darryl Durham aka Double D is a CON man.

His supposed 2012 Trinidad & Tobago carnival presentation was a FAKE. None of the previously advertised costumes were to be seen. I was one of several disappointed masqueraders without a costume. He was taken to the police station but has since been released; no doubt back in New York getting ready for another set of fleecing.

Apparently there was a similar situation last year. There was disorganization and some were left with any costumes. However this year he did NOT deliver at all! This does not augur well for bandleaders and carnival.

Perhaps it would be a good idea for bandleaders associations to have some sort of discredited peoples list itemising those who have fleeced and conned people out of money so that the public here and abroad could check before they commit to a seemingly honest venture!!
